Meet us: Amber
by Helena Moore, Content Executive and Assistant Producer
We caught up with Amber Rose, our Senior Event Manager and Marketing Manager, to get to know her better…
What do you enjoy most about working in events?
I love meeting new people. I’ve always found it super easy to talk to people and so networking with unfamiliar faces is something that will never get old to me. I love finding common ground with people and then building relationships and learning more about a person from there. Gone are the days when I used to be told off in school for talking too much!
Favourite things to do outside of work?
I love keeping active, so going to the gym plays a key part in my routine, but I also play netball and have recently taken up golf! Here’s hoping that I may get to travel to some beautiful places to play a few courses! Ideally, South Africa, where I could pair it with a little vineyard trip …
If you could organise an event anywhere, where would it be?
Top three, because it’s too tough to narrow it down to just one. First up would be Japan, for its culture, architecture and the endless variety of snacks I could bring home with me.
The second would be French Polynesia. The coral-fringed turquoise lagoons, water bungalows and black-sand beaches would make the most incredible backdrop for any event.
And third would be Whistler in Canada. I’ve wanted to go to Whistler for some time now, after hearing how magical the town is and its range of outdoor activities to do! I feel these locations would also be incredible places to stay on for an extra few days post-event to truly unwind and explore.
Three essential items to take on-site/on a recce?
Snacks, snacks and plasters. We cover a huge number of steps in a day when on-site, so plasters are essential. Mealtimes are also super unpredictable, so snacks to get through the day are a must to keep the team going!
What do you do to relax after an event?
When working on an event that has taken a good part of the year to organise, it’s always nice to have a couple of days booked off after, where you can really relax and switch off for a bit. If not a few days off, a massage is always a treat!
