Reflecting on my time at Dellar Davies
by Natalie Scripps, Registration Executive
I wouldn’t usually write a post like this; however, a year on from my last live event has left me feeling reflective.
With over 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, it felt only natural to start working for an event agency to expand my knowledge. I hit the ground running with my first ‘live’ event for Dellar Davies being The Travel Convention in October 2019 which took place in Tokyo, Japan. What a first event with the company that was!
Unfortunately, it was only five months later that I found myself at our last ‘live’ event, The Travel Marketing Awards at The Hilton on Park Lane on 9 March 2020! Little did I know then that we would all be put into a national lockdown two weeks later and I would be placed on a government furlough scheme.
A skeleton team immediately began working hard behind the scenes to evolve Dellar Davies to organise and produce professional level virtual events. All the existing team have since retrained in roles that are very different to what we were used to, which has added yet another string to my bow. Now, with the COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in our sights, I can’t wait to incorporate the new skills I have learned to produce blended events in the future as all events, live or online, are valuable experiences.
