Meet us: Sara

We caught up with Sara Biggs, our Head of Finance, to get to know her a bit better…

Tell us something not many people know about you?
People may be surprised to learn that my name is actually Emma! When I joined Dellar Davies there was already an Emma in the team, so I volunteered to use my middle name (Sara) to make it less confusing. I have come to enjoy that Emma and Sara can lead quite different lives and never the twain shall meet (well, only occasionally!).

What do you enjoy most about working in events?
I should point out that although I work for an event agency, I am Dellar Davies’ head of finance. I have always loved numbers and from a very early age I wanted to be an accountant, but when I joined Dellar Davies I found a workplace and a sector that I loved just as much as figures! The most enjoyable part of working in events for me is the people; both the team at Dellar Davies (which feels like a family), and those who attend our clients’ events – I’ve met so many nice people over the years and I love to see them having fun. Another benefit of working in events is occasionally I get to share the stage with celebrities!

What have you learned since working in Events?
I have learned that there is always a solution to a problem. Sometimes you need to think outside the box and plan for all situations and variables, but in the world of events, anything is possible!

Favourite things to do outside of work?
I love to spend time in my hot tub, dance the night away and do acrobatics. My favourite exercises are those that largely involve being upside down – ariel hoop and pole are my favourites at the moment, but as I get stronger I am hoping to progress to silks!
